The Vehicle – Volkswagen Golf R32
The brief –
The owner wanted a coat of Zymol Destiny applied to his paintwork. This was a vehicle that we had machine polished etc only a short time previously, so this only needed the lightest of polishes before the Zymol application.
The process –
The car was foamed using the Gilmour gun and a mix of Super Snow Foam and Chemical Guy’s Maxi Suds II. This taking care of any loose dirt on the vehicle.
The car was rinsed
Using Meguiar’s Shampoo Plus and Eurow lambswool wash mitts, the R32 was given a careful and safe two bucket method wash.
The car was rinsed again.
The R32 was dried using Meguiar’s Last Touch and Meguiar’s Water Magnets.
We gave the R32 the lightest of polishes using Menzerna Final Finish RE5 on the vertical panels by PC with a Sonus SFX2 pad.
The horizontal panels polished using Menzerna Intensive Polish PO85RD3.01 on an orange Lake County orange light cut pad, with the gloss then refined using Menzerna Final Finish PO106FF on a Sonus SFX2 pad.
The Zymol –
Using a foma applicator for the Zymol HD Cleanse, we used a wipe on, wipe off technique. The HD Cleanse being a recommended part of the Zymol process, needed to prepare and clean the surface ready for the wax. Once buffed off with a soft Microfibre cloth, the HD Cleanse already leaving a gorgeous finish behind.
Taking a pea sized lump of the Zymol destiny, the warming it in the palm of our hands, we slowly applied the Zymol to the paintwork of the car. You don’t use an applicator for the Zymol, just using our hands to apply the thinnest of coats of wax.
Using a folded soft MF to wipe off any excess wax from the bodywork, then lightly dusty the bodywork to bring out a gorgeous depth of shine to the paintwork of the R32. The Zymol waxes being a range of products that we are looking forward to applying to more vehicles in 2007.
