Today’s detail – Sanky’s Golf VR6.
Already known on for keeping an awesome VR6, Sanky made the trip up the hill to my place today, to try and take his vehicles appearance to the next level.
Things we’ve used today –
Washed with Snow and Foambuster gun.
Wheels and arches washed with All Purpose Cleaner Car washed using a two bucket method and Eurrow washmitts. Dried with Megs water magnets and Megs Last Touch.
Starting with the least aggressive product first, and only after doing a full inspection using a calibrated Elcometer 456 paint thickness gauge.

After creating a load of heat, and removing the majority of minor defects, but inducing some marring and holograms, we came back down the scale one step at a time to SSR1 to create a perfectly burnished shine.
Paint thickness readings were taken in between each step, and also to let the panels cool.
Final polish and glaze – Megs #80 speed glaze by PC with white LC pad.
Sealed with Poorboys EX-P for brightness. Waxed with Poorboys Natty’s Blue Spit shined using Pinnacle Souveran.
All product removed with Meguiar’s Supreme Shine MF’s.
Tyres and inner arches dressed with Hyper Dressing cut 3:1
Trim dressed with Megs #38 tyre and trim.
Glass cleaned with Megs Glass Cleaner Concentrate.
Rolled the finished VR6 outside for inspection –
